About Catherine Slye

Catherine has made Phoenix, Arizona her home since 2007. She finds the the physical environment; the light, color and the heat, to be acute and even magical. She’s excited by the possibility of photographing the less seen - the unseen, within in this urban desert landscape.

Available for hire, please inquire.

I seek to capture the beauty in the universality, even mundanity within the human built environment and modern human life in an effort to elevate disregarded settings and gestures to greatness.

Expanding the liminal spaces and experiences with minimally processed photographs so as to invite an elastic sense of knowing has always been exciting and challenging. Undertaking definitive series supports my immersion in totality - physically and emotionally, allowing an unearthing of the nuanced divergences and parallelisms.

My digital photographs are produced as Digital C prints. I feel that as digital photographs are captured in RGB, only a digital chromogenic print which is produced in RGB can maintain the integrity and intent of the images.
