She's some of this and she's some of that, but she's always been a daydream believer; an artist. Her first work of art was displayed in First Grade, a drawing of "In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb" (The English proverb). By High School she was taking all of the available art and graphic arts classes available and in 1988 enrolled in Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Sadly, when Catherine said - I want to draw using a computer - they said - oh, you mean desktop publishing and sent her to the "computer lab" - a locked and personless room with a single 10" Macintosh which wasn't even turned on.

Clearly ahead of her time, she jumped ship and finished her college studies at Metropolitan State University. In 1994 Catherine began her career in the Sales & Marketing department of a large printing company, having an art background and sensibility she easily made the leap to web design in 1997 when asked to "find out about this World Wide Web thing".

Since then, she's worked and freelanced for clients such as NASA, GSA, New England Job Corps, web development firms and advertising agencies, historical societies, public high schools, independent shops and stores, artists and more. She's taught and tutored in design, art and sewing. Acted as an art agent supporting independent artists and producing art shows and silent auctions on the East Coast. In 2004, she purchased a vintage Singer sewing machine.

Catherine is comfortable with the new and unknown when most humans crave the familiar, the ordinary, and the middle of the road. She loves the outer boundaries of the human condition and can tolerate the sharp edges of life. By experiencing these rawer places, she can see the purity of an experience - the contrasts that aren't blurred by convention.

She can see the good in an object - a quality that she imbues the objects with by loving them. The process of creation must hold as much beauty as the end product for Catherine. She creates with paper, fabric and sewing, and for lack of a better label you can call her a mixed media artist.

In 2007, Catherine, her husband and their best dog, Goody moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
